Thank you! I really enjoyed doing this one.

How do you get the pencil off on the canvas. You said 'raw' so I presume it wasn't sized with anything?

What brand of pencils do you use for the canvas vice paper work?

I use Berol/Sanford Prismacolour Pencils for my cp work; paper and canvas. For the canvas, pick a small weave and one of the "softer" texture canvas fabrics (sometimes I hand wash it to make it even softer).....I buy the stuff by the roll and cut what I want off it. When I work on canvas, I *lightly* (don't let it soak all the way through) gesso the "back" of the canvas to add a bit if "stiffness" to the fabric so it doesn't stretch out of shape as I work and so it will be easier to tape to my artboard. I don't work on the gesso side because it does not take the pencil well. I use Berol/Sanford Prismacolour Pencils and I uses Prismacolour VeriThins for a firmer thinnner line. Faber-Castel (sp) has some nice pencils too...though I stick mostly with Prismacolour. They draw beautifully on canvas, though it will "eat your pencils up"! Be prepared to sharpen frequently and use up a pencil quickly. I don't start a piece unless I have at least 4 of each color pencil in stock. I also use my soft pastels on canvas and I hear that oil pastels work well on it too. I've also used pastels on linen and silk.....makes for some *very* interesting textures!

wow, this is great piece, love the facial cuteness expression of the child:thumbsup:
though not sure if the photo made the art blurry here.

Thank you.

I'm not sure why this turned out blurry......I think it just did not scan well. I need to rescan and repost........now if I can just get my sister to take it down off the wall and let me do that! hahaha!

i'm giving my husband a lot of trouble too when i'm not happy with the result (photo and all the computer adjustment of colors, etc.):)
